The least of these brothers of Jesus
yes I love the weekly awards that can accompany a whole by a week. What have you done these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. The word from Matt 25.40 is related to the six works of mercy (feeding type, drink, visit prisoners, care for the sick, strangers start): If the least doing something good for them all human encounters, which does so little for the world and live as a judge is a reward for this act in communion with God. This judge gehht not from the Tatsünden, the reaction to the Christian message, but simply by the human behavior towards the lowly . The Prizewinners have not looked at Jesus, so they have his name known. They have been practicing humanity, something very low-threshold done what they neither need nor a special proclamation of theological education. Jesus does not speak of good works to which one can imagine something, so religious services. He does not speak of the Tatsünden that have been committed. He looks at the behavior to the lowly with which he identifies himself. And who has done them some good will be rewarded - and who has done nothing, is cursed. It shows that Jesus has obtained forgiveness for all, including those who do not know him. But their treatment of the lowly has a consequence. This is in itself a challenging idea. Some will feel that as a provocation, that her life as a Christian with all the consequences this has no advantage over people who have practiced some humanity towards the poor. But in the parable of the laborers in the vineyard, Jesus has already pointed out that last shall be first and vice versa.
It is even more challenging when we ask: Who are the humble, which he calls his brothers? For some, the boom are the Christians, the disciples, the missionaries on the move for him. Dannn chooses the other is behaving towards the Christians. Again and again, Jesus called his followers as the Little or lowly , although with different Greek words (eg Matthew 10). Others see with all the poor people in need, which identifies Jesus. Then if his universal statements, he adopted then Matt 5th
Does it make a difference for us? I think not. Jesus came for all and seeks the lost. We are given up to carry the message of Jesus so that they VVON of God's love and learn to share that love. The more hear about it and get on with it, the more will be saved.
